Today
is my birthday. It is difficult for me to tell people my age,
that is my chronological age, because the world has attached so
much to the numbers of our age that it has lost sight of the
truth that we have both a chronological and a biological age. I
believe the reason we focus so much on the chronological is
because it is easy to know. Our biological age is an unknown.
Yet, most of us know intuitively that our age cannot be
described by a number.
The Power of Life within us and the degree in which we recognize
this Power determines everything; our age, our prosperity, our
hopes and even our dreams. The Master Mind Jesus called it
the "kingdom of G-d within" because he had experienced the Power
so intensely. He also taught that we all have this Power within
us.
Early New Thought/Metaphysics/Mental Science teachers were
always giving us glimpses into this Power within us.
Unfortunately too many of them had not completely eliminated the
dogma and superstition of religion and traditional thought from
their consciousness to be able to clearly teach it. Even the
Master Mind Jesus had to resort to parables in order to express
the truth that he had experienced. But, the basics of
metaphysical teaching is an opening in our mind for growth and
expansion.
Let's ponder these words from Robert Collier's book, The Secret
of the Ages: "What do you lack? What thing do you want most?
Realize that before it or any other thing ca be, it must first
be imaged in Mind. Realize, too, that when you can close your
eyes and actually SEE that thing, you have brought it into being
- you have drawn upon that invisible substance all abut you -
you have created something. Hold it in your thought, focus your
mind upon it. "BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE IT" - and your Higher Self
will pour its Vital Force into it and bring it into being.
God is but another name for the invisible, everywhere-present,
Source of things. Out of the air seed gathers the essences which
are necessary to its bountiful growth; out of the invisible
ether our minds gather the rich ideas that stimulate us to
undertake and to carry out enterprises that bring prosperity to
us. Let us see with the eye of the mind a bountiful harvest;
then our minds will be quickened with ideas of abundance, and
plenty will appear, not only in our world but everywhere."
This Power that is within us is unique to each of us; similarly
as our biological age. No one knows the degree of this Power
within us until we use it for our good. We won't know either
until we use it. It is the Power of Life within us ... but it is
only power when we recognize it as so.
