"Divine
Spirit is the limitless potential of human life."
- Thomas Troward
A
massive gathering in Washington, D.C., was conceived by the Rev.
Ken Hutcherson of Antioch Bible Church in Redmond, Washington,
who organized the Mayday for Marriage rally at Safeco Field back in May.
"I think that traditional marriage is under attack,"
Hutcherson said. "I think it's an emergency situation. The church
has to stand up. We believe this fight is so important because
(those wanting to expand the definition of marriage) are trying to get
the Christian influence, religious influence, out of society. The
Constitution never says there was a separation of church and state. It
is the freedom of religion, not the freedom from religion. And that's
why we're fighting so hard. They
can't call me prejudiced, can they? I'm hoping that coming from an
African American like myself, that the African American people will wake
up also and quit following the likes of
people like the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. ... They are living
lives that are immoral. I mean, Rev.
Jesse Jackson has proven that he's not a man of the cloth as far as
staying strictly to the Bible."
"God
didn't create Adam and Steve" ... is the rallying cry for
fundamentalist Christians like Rev. Ken Hutcherson. After the last
election when it was opined that politicians who were against
"same-sex marriage" were more moral than politicians who were
opposed to sending our young men and women to die in Iraq ... even some
of the more "balanced" politicians like Wesley Clark,
acquiesced to the Christian Right's position that being for same-sex
marriage was wrong. But like Hutcherson's lack of knowledge of the
Constitution ... Wesley Clark missed the mark as well.
Judge Thomas Troward was an
authority on the Bible and Spirituality. He understood the
Originating Creative Process more than anyone before him or after him
... except the Master Mind Jesus. The Science of Mind owes much of
its "substance" to Judge Troward. The nature of Spirit
is "liberty" ... and liberty requires freedom of expression.
Since the nature of Spirit is liberty, it is our nature as well.
Repressing liberty does not benefit a society unless of course, that
liberty tramples on the rights of others. Legalizing same-sex
marriage does not outlaw opposite-sex marriage. No one's marriage
can be threatened by anyone or anything outside of their marriage unless
they choose to let it be so. This is not just a spiritual law but
also basic common sense.
I am not opposed to any minister, priest
or rabbi preaching their personal philosophies from their pulpits ...
but I am opposed to legislation that is based solely on religion.
Religion has a vicious history not only in this country but in the
history of the world as well. The same religious leaders who are
opposed to same-sex marriage are the same people who will use their
judgments against gay and lesbian people to "fund-raise" for
their ministries ... and they do this through fear and self-righteous
judgment ... through fear they teach that there are two gods ...
God and the Devil ... but this has never been the Truth. As we
read in scripture, "I, I am the Lord, there is none other."
The Master Mind
Jesus understood the power that religion attempted to take from God in
the minds of men/women, and He attempted to evolve people's
understanding and awareness of their relationship to God ... but
religion has taken His great work and distorted it and manipulated it to
its darkest degree. The fundamentalist religious leaders of the
world have down-graded God to the level of man and continue to promote
their distorted "God created in the image of man" ... instead
of the Truth ... GOD IS ALL ... gay, straight, black, white, brown,
green, yellow or red ... if we can see it .... IT IS GOD ...
"Divine Spirit is the limitless potential of human life" ...
and that's the Truth about Adam and Steve!
And
So It Is!
Maximum Love,
Rev.
