I
receive lots of e-mail messages on a daily basis; prayer requests, jokes
from friends, inspirational messages and sometimes .... messages that
stir up the "spirit" within me. This week I received a
message with quotes from a prominent religious leader, a Christian.....
filled with judgment, biased opinions, and disturbing remarks aimed at
one of my favorite authors, Neale Donald Walsch.
I
have read "Conversations with God"
in its entirety and re-read many pages more than a couple of times.
The single statement, "either we go within or we go without,"
can change anyone's life for the better. This book is a masterful
dialogue between Neale Donald Walsch and God ... maybe not your God or
my God, but the God that Is Present and Alive to Neale. I have
also read "Conversations with God Books 2 and 3" and
paragraphs from "Friendship with God." I don't have the
same relationship with God that Neale Donald Walsch has ... but I know
without a doubt that his books are sincere, inspiring and do not take
anything away from the teachings of Jesus. The
messages in the books can be reduced to four sentences:
1. We are all one.
2.There's enough.
3. There's nothing we have to do.
4. Ours is not
a better way, ours is merely another way.
Simple enough ... as simple as the
teachings of Jesus ... and in truth are the same
as the teachings of Jesus ... so simple that little children can
understand them .... sometimes more easily than adults. Neale has
a book titled "Conversations with God for Teens: The New
Revelations" and this book in particular has the prominent
Christian all upset. What an abomination that someone teach that
our sins are just mistakes and do not define us .... that we can live
life free of judgment and that no matter what we have done, there is a
God that loves us ... unconditionally .... "He knows no
iniquity" ... it states in scripture.... and the Master Teacher
Jesus stated, "it rains on the good and the bad alike" .... in
other words God's Love is not a game of reward and punishment ...
teaching teens to be free of the cultural guilt and shame that most of
us have experienced is completely in alignment with the teachings of
Jesus .... but the prominent Christian, of course, would disagree with
me completely...... guilt and shame benefit no one..
It is no surprise that
fundamentalist ministers would attack the work of Neale Donald Walsch
... most of them jump back and forth from the Old Testament to the New
Testament as if they were one and the same..... totally disregarding the
teachings of the Master Mind Jesus. The words of Jesus were words
of Love and Understanding ... forgiveness and compassion... about
understanding our individual relationship with God.... He instructed us
to "go into the closet" and listen to God ..... not to depend
on the opinions of religious leaders or anyone else ... but listen to
God for our guidance and help.
Neale
Donald Walsch has listened to God ... shut out the distractions of the
world's false religious teachings and has shared his communion with God
to the world in his wonderful books. These books can change the
world that we live in ... a world on the edge of war ... a world that
continues to repeat its mistakes rather than learn from them ... a world
guided by both religious and secular leaders that give "lip
service" to the teachings of Jesus but yet identify themselves as
Christians .... in the words of the Masterful Jesus ... "you know
every letter of the law ... but you have no love in your hearts"
...... thank you Neale Donald Walsch for sharing your truth and the love
in your heart with the world .... it is much needed.
And
So It Is!

Love Use Me In Its Own Good Way,
