"And
all the good you've done will soon be swept away, You've begun to matter
more than the things you say." - Tim
Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber, Jesus Christ Superstar
And so it is Christmas
... and no matter what anyone's ideas or opinions about
Jesus are ... every intelligent person realizes from all the evidence
around them, that He perfected His consciousness to a greater measure
than anyone else in history ... and even though in this time of year the
Winter Solstice was celebrated with lights and decorated trees way
before the celebration of Christmas ... few people truly care ... the
celebration of Jesus' Life throughout most of the world dominates this
time of year ... and this is a fact.
It is a
disturbing reality that the persona of Jesus is becoming more important
than His message in our current times. And yes, He has been highly
misunderstood, but then Greatness has almost always been misunderstood
throughout history. His language was that of a mystic, subjective
... and in its subjectivity ... it is open to interpretation. In
metaphysics, we understand that His language was affirmative ... and
evolutionary. His goal was not to be the basis for religion ...
but to expand on the philosophy of Judaism. Judaism is a
monotheistic religion which believes that the world was created by a
single, all-knowing divinity, and that all things within that world were
designed to have meaning and purpose as part of a divine order.
I would like to
share with you my ideas regarding a few of His most important teachings,
from a metaphysical perspective. These statements are taken from
the "Sermon On The Mount:"
Matthew 5:16 Let
your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
It is our great
privilege and responsibility to demonstrate God, Good, in our
lives. Our lives are a contradiction of Principle, "it is the
Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom," if we do
not. No matter what we may be going "through" ... we
should maintain the face of faith and hope in God's eternal goodness and
givingness.
Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you,
That except your
righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and
Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
This is one of the
Master Mind Jesus' most radical statements. He is telling us not
to concern ourselves about the "opinions" of the religious
leaders ... for they "know every letter of the Law but have no love
in their hearts." Religion, by and large, is not evolutionary
... it holds to traditions and symbols that cause it to become stagnant
in yesterday's awareness of God, Infinite Spirit. Spirit is always
evolving the mind of man, but religion and those who teach it, rely on
history. We are not living in the Old Testament nor the New
Testament ... we are in the "Now Testament" ... but religion
continues to hold us to the understanding of the ancients.
Matthew 5:29 And if
thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from
thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should
perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 5:30
And if thy right hand offend thee,
cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable
for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole
body should be cast into hell.
[5:29] We are not to
judge according to sight ... but according to faith. Judging
according to what we see, can lead us into making mistakes and
miscalculations and can even cause us to lose hope and experience
despair (hell). [5:30] Whatever we are "holding on
to" let it go ... we cannot move forward in life as long as we are
"holding on" to old ideas, and things that no longer benefit
us. This "holding on" can create "hell"
[negative consequences] in our lives. We must trust in the
infinite possibilities that are available to us ... "holding
on" ... creates limitation in our consciousness and in our lives.
Matthew 5:44 But I say
unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that
curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you, and persecute you; 5:45 That ye
may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for
he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain
on the just and on the unjust.
As we become aware that we are not
God, but that "all that we are Is God," then we understand
that we must view Life as God does. Our human experience on this
planet is just a moment in eternity ... all things change. Our
friend of today may be our enemy of tomorrow and vice versa [ask Saddam
Hussein about this]. There is no good or evil except that thinking
makes it so ... for the Infinite makes it All-Good in Its own mysterious
way.
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is,
there will your heart be also.
And this is one of the greatest
psychological truths espoused by the Master Mind Jesus. We do not
become accomplished by doing something that we do not love. Our
relationships are not attractive to us if we do not love those with whom
we are involved with. Everything is guided by the heart ... and
the heart is the center of the Sub-conscious Mind. The guiding
force of Power in our lives. Jesus ... "Love
is your true self, which springs forth from God, the indefinable
everlasting fountain of existence."
AND SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
