Thanksgiving
will be celebrated in the United States in a few days and many of
us we have so much to be grateful for. Personally, it would be
impossible for me to count the infinite blessings that I have received
this past year and the numbers of people that have come into my life
that have blessed me tremendously. As a Practitioner/Minister of a
Healing Teaching, I get plenty of opportunities to practice my Practice.
Each and every person who comes to me for help and each and every person
who sends me a prayer request or asks me to pray for someone ... is a
blessing to me. Why? .... you might ask. Because everything
is consciousness .... everything.
Even when I am feeling excited and enthusiastic about Life and all that
It Is .... there is always something in my consciousness that requires
"correction." This will always be the case as long as I
am living "in the world." The Master Mind Jesus stated
that we are to "be in the world but not of the world."
In other words, the "collective consciousness" that believes
in poverty, illness, guilt, shame, inferior and superior .... is always
"pushing against my individual consciousness." As long
as we are "in the world" this will be the case and we may as
well face up to the reality of it and know that we must do our
"spiritual work" daily. "Pray without ceasing"
the scriptures instruct us because that is the only way to not "be
of the world" that believes in God and something else .... Good and
Its opposite.
People are
not attracted to Practitioners because their lives are wonderful,
beautiful, healthy and filled with success, prosperity and happiness.
People contact Practitioners because they are looking to be healed ...
or looking to have someone they love experience a healing. Many of
these people understand the Law of Mind (It is done unto you as you
believe), many do not and many who do ..... find great exception to it
when it makes a demand on them to take responsibility for their
experiences and the conditions in their lives.
Many
Practitioners do not fully understand the Law of Mind either ... Why?
.... because it makes a demand on us to "give up our own
stuff" and accept the fact that everyone who comes to us for
healing ... no matter what it is ... we have the very same thing in our
consciousness that must be healed ... it may be taking a different form
or manifesting as a different experience ... but ... it is there and
must be corrected. In Truth whenever we pray or "treat"
for anyone, we are always healing ourselves and if we do not heal
whatever it is within our own consciousness ..... our clients/friends
will not be healed. Healing (not a cure) occurs when the
Practitioner "reveals the Truth" in their own consciousness.
This "revelation of Truth" is revealed to the client in
consciousness. Healing is not a process, Dr. Holmes states, it is
a revelation.
Practitioners are not
psychologists ... nor are they spiritual psychologists. The term
"spiritual psychologist" is an oxymoron. Healing has
nothing to do with psychology ... but with a revealing of the Truth in
the consciousness of the Practitioner and the client. If the Truth
is steadfast and immovable in the consciousness of the Practitioner ....
the client is healed instantaneously. If the client is not healed
... the Practitioner has to transcend the un-truth in their own
consciousness. If the client is not healed within a few days ...
the Practitioner is "hanging-on" to their stuff. Why?
Because spiritual Truth oftentimes defies human understanding and our
human willingness to transcend our firmly held beliefs, ideas and
concepts that we have accepted as truth.
Many times what we believe is
"truth" to us ... but not "the Truth." For
instance, it is easy to "blame" the economy for why we do not
have a job. And, yes, it may be true that the economy does not
appear to be good and employment opportunities may appear to be limited
.... but that is not "the Truth." The "Truth"
is that we are not dependent on the economy or the lack or abundance of
employment opportunities ... we depend on Principle (Infinite Good) and
Principle alone. Persons, places and things ... may deceive us ...
but Principle never does.
The biggest issue that blocks healing is
anger. Rather than be thankful for the opportunities that come
along to "heal our consciousness" many people will get angry.
Anger may take the form of shame, blame, resentment, envy, self-pity
.... but it is anger nonetheless. Anger denies God (Omnipresence)
and therefore blocks healing. But ..... we can change anger
into "thankful-ness" and the opportunity for healing is fully
open. Anger is not receptive .... thankful-ness is ... receptive
to more Good and more of every Good thing.
