"Love
points the way ... and Law makes the way possible." ...
Dr. Ernest Holmes
Very often in
this work I run across people who are confused about the difference
between "spiritual" teachings and metaphysics. I have
even had some enlightened souls tell me that Jesus was spiritual not
religious. This is close but not entirely the truth ... Jesus was
a metaphysician. Now a lot of the literature and several books in
the Bible written about him are spiritual ... but He was indeed the
greatest metaphysician in history. I am knowing that this message
will clarify this statement.
Spiritual people will
tell you that God Is Good; God Is Love; God Is Divine Joy .... and, God
Is All there Is. And all of this is true ... but knowing all
this does not demonstrate the Truth of these statements.
Metaphysics teaches us how to demonstrate the Truth ... as the Master
Mind Jesus taught us how to do. Spiritual people are by and large
very loving people ... and generally they have a great understanding of
Love ... but Love without Law is like a pretty orange tree that can't
produce oranges ... it is only living half of its potential. The
purpose of metaphysics is to align Law with Love and demonstrate ... or
experience the Good that we desire to have, to be, or to do.
Love, being God,
brings into our awareness the desire for more Good to be experienced in
our Life. This desire may be in the form of more peace, more joy,
more love, companionship, success in our creative expression and even
the desire for more money. All that Is, Is Good ... so we must
never dismiss any desire to experience more Good in whatever form may
come to our awareness ... for our every Good desire emanates from the
Mind of God ... Infinite Love.
Far too many people
spend far too much time chasing gurus ... reading the currently popular
spiritual books on the "best seller" lists or the Oprah
"book" of the month. There is nothing wrong with any of
these ... but we will not discover the healing of the discord in our
lives this way. The study of metaphysics demands that we consent
to "repetition" ... reading, studying and practicing the
basics of metaphysics. It is not glamorous ... and probably you
won't read about too many celebrities doing it ... but it is the study
and the repetition that will change our "old consciousness"
... or patterns of thinking, beliefs and imaginings ... to the Higher
Thought Life that creates greater and more expansive experiences of
love, joy, peace, happiness, harmony, success and prosperity. But
far too many people will never demonstrate the "effortless"
Life ... because they are too busy trying to find someone to
"fix" them ... or find a "way" to "fix"
them that is more exciting ... then just doing "the work."
"In It we live and move and
have our Being" ... an intelligent person must come to the
conclusion that "It" Is Mind ... we all live in It ... and we
are all living to the awareness of It to the degree that we
"recognize" It. We must become "aware" that we
are an expression of God, and that God is a deeper dimension of us
expressing It "as" us. This is why our prayers must
affirm that the "result" that we desire to demonstrate,
already "is" ... for the nature of God is responsiveness.
This is using the Law effectively. We cannot bargain with God or
coax God into working a miracle for us ... this is just nonsense.
God knows our needs ... and God "is" the answer. But we
must approach God in the language of Spirit ... the Truth. But so
many of us are distracted from the Truth by religious and political
leaders. Millions of people in churches every week become
blinded to the true Love of God by saying "amen" after a silly
minister, who is only parroting what someone else parroted to him/her
... tells them they are sinners and born in sin. The word
"amen" means agreement.
This past week a Catholic
League called for a boycott of Wal-Mart (later called off) ... not
because of Wal-Mart's worker policies ... but because Wal-Mart uses the
"inclusive" "Happy Holidays" rather than "Merry
Christmas" ... as a holiday greeting. An ex-employee of
Wal-Mart replied to an email regarding the "greeting" and
informed a customer that Christmas resulted from traditions ranging from
Siberian shamanism to Visigoth calendars. "Santa is also
borrowed from the Caucauses, mistletoe from the Celts, Yule log from the
Goths, the time from the Visigoth and the tree from the worship of Baal.
It is a wide wide world, " he wrote. This grossly offended
the Catholic League. But it is the truth ... and takes nothing
away from spirituality or metaphysics ... and neither does it take
anything away from Catholicism or Christianity. A Wal-Mart
spokesman said employees will continue to wish people "Happy
Holidays" because the greeting is more inclusive. And I say
amen to that!
And
So It Is!

Love Use Me In Its Own Good Way,
