The ancient texts tell us that
whatever it is that we are to do or to have, we must have a complete
faith with no doubting in order to receive the thing that we seek.
Dr. Holmes writes in "The Science of Mind," that "faith
is complete when it is both a conscious and subjective acceptance."
Or, as Dr. Murphy writes, when both the "subconscious and conscious
mind agree." But, the Great Metaphysician Jesus, taught that
if we have "faith the size of a mustard seed" then we can move
mountains. There is a different nuance to each of these statements
and perhaps as we examine them a little, we may find a greater benefit
in them.
I am not sure that I would realize
whether my subjective mind was in agreement with my conscious mind or
whether by subconscious and conscious mind agree. The only way in
which to know is when we receive the results of what we seek. But,
this absolute faith can be tricky ... and like the scripture reads,
" ... for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven
and tossed by the wind." This call for an absolute and
complete faith may in fact, hinder our demonstrations. I state
this, because for many of us, we just don't have the level of confidence
to realize an absolute or complete faith. And for those of us who
find this absolute and complete faith to be fleeting, I suggest that we
look again at the statement from the Master Mind Jesus. He stated
that all we need is "faith the size of a mustard seed."
Now, this "faith the size of a mustard
seed," in everyday language is, "faith in the
possibility." Dr. Norman Vincent Peale helped thousands of
people realize good results by teaching "possibility
thinking." In order to have any faith at all in something, we
must realize that it is a possibility. When praying for someone
who is dealing with seeming life-threatening illnesses, the first step
is to help them realize that healing is a possibility. The same is
true for almost everything that we would pray about. This belief
in the possibility automatically diminishes the power of the negative in
our mind. And as the negative power is diminished, our mind is
more free and relaxed and more ready to develop a greater faith.
Once this "faith the size of a mustard seed" enters our mind,
our desire to be healthy, or prosperous, or whatever, is enlivened and
energized.
As we know, All Is Mind, and the more
universal we are in our desires, the more complete will be our results.
Whether we want to demonstrate a BMW or health, our desire must go
beyond the personal to the universal. Should we desire to
demonstrate a BMW, we can think beyond the personal by realizing that as
we purchase a BMW, we are also part of the employment of all people
associated with BMW; the car salesman, the advertising personnel, the
building contractors that built the dealership, the owner of the
dealership, and the people who work in the factories associated with
manufacturing the automobile as well as all the parts of the automobile
... and we can go even beyond this in our thinking. When we choose
to demonstrate health, we can realize that as a healthy person we are
more productive in our work, more cooperative with those around us and
our demonstration of health over illness can inspire the people around
us to
do the same. There is always more to our personal desires
than what they appear to be. As we remember that we are working
with a Universal Power, Presence, and Intelligence, then we know that
whatever desire It gives to us, through our mind, will always be
universal in nature.
As we understand and realize more and more of
the possibilities that are available to us ... and the possibilities
that our demonstrated desires create, not only for us personally but for
many others, we begin to feel a greater passion for demonstrating our
Good desires. It is a wonderful feeling to know that as we
receive, we are simultaneously giving. This is exciting to our
true nature, our Spirit. And so we realize that our
prayer-treatments are powerful as they are demonstrated. This
passion for demonstrating the Good, or God, takes us out of any concept
of selfishness or self-centeredness ... and we begin to more completely
realize that we are a "center of Creative Mind" ... bringing
forth Good for ourselves and many others.
And so we realize
that much can be accomplished with faith the "size of a mustard
seed" ... and as we develop an unflinching faith in the
possibilities that are available to us, then we can loose the passion
within and be true to the calling of our souls.

SO IT IS!
