"For I know the plans I
have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to
give you a future and a hope. Then
you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You
will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will
be found by you, declares the LORD."
- Jeremiah 29:11-14, The Holy Bible (American Standard
Version)
The
Master Mind Jesus' taught to "seek ye first the kingdom of
God" and "seek and ye shall find" ... and in the science
of mind we know this "seeking" is done within our mind ...
where we connect with the Spirit. So many of us spend so much time
seeking effects that we never fully realize the Presence of Spirit in
our lives. This is why the Master Mind Jesus never gave power to
appearances ... he saw by faith, not by sight. Religions and New
Age teachings can sometimes deceive us into believing that there is
power in effects. But, there is only one power and this power is
G-d, and we can only find that which is of G-d by opening our mind to
the Mind of G-d ... and we do this in the silence and through spiritual
awareness and understanding.
"Still your mind
several times a day and affirm slowly, quietly, and lovingly, "God
flows through me as harmony, health, peace, joy, wholeness, and
perfection. God walks and talks in me. God's spell is always
around me, and wherever I go God's Wisdom governs me in all my ways, and
Divine right action prevails. All my ways are ways of
pleasantness, and all my paths are peace." -
Dr. Joseph Murphy, 1971 Special Lecture at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre,
Los Angeles, California
It is important that we understand that at some point our seeking must
stop and we must realize we have found what we have been seeking ... and
that Something, is G-d ... and if it is not, then we have allowed
ourselves to be led astray. There are those who are so committed
to their religions, that they allow their religions to lead them away
from G-d. And there are those who are so committed to following
prosperity gurus, that they begin to see money as their security ... but
it is a false god. The spiritual genius, Dr. Ernest Holmes, in a
moment of enlightenment made the profound statement; "Love points
the way, and Law makes the way possible." Love gives us the
desire and the inspiration to have faith that we can have it ... and by
following the Law, we can have it with grace and ease. But,
without Love, which is G-d, we may use the Law to get what we want, but
it will lack grace. In other words, whatever it is that we get,
there is always a possibility of losing it ... or experiencing something
along with it that takes away our peace and our ease.
"Get the
receiving feeling, for that is the Spirit pouring itself through you.
As long as you are looking, you are not receiving. As long as you
are looking, you have not found. As long as you say, "When
will my good come to me?" just so long are you deferring your good.
You are not receiving. You are not accepting. ... We sometimes
spend a lifetime seeking that which we already have. We give power
to effects and not to Spirit. Jesus never gave power to effects.
I am not saying that you should deny that there are certain appearances
in your life, but I am saying, "Do not give them power. Do
not fight them. Do not sweep them under a rug. Do not
wrestle with them at all. Look at them, but in consciousness strip
them of all power. ... I believe the "secret" of Jesus was
that he gave all power to Spirit. The appearance was there.
Fine. But Spirit, Mind, Life, Intelligence was the power.
Let the Infinite pour through you in the same manner. Receive it.
Accept it. Know that it is the only power in your life."
- Dr. Frank E. Richelieu, The Art Of
Being Yourself
It is in these moments of
"stillness" that the Infinite pours through us, and
establishes patterns of Divine Order in our subconscious mind.
Whatever we impress upon the subconscious will be expressed in our
experience. But, we cannot establish these patterns of Divine
Order when our mind is being consumed with the negative beliefs and
limited ideas of the race-conscious mind. As we consciously choose
to "be still" understand that we are recognizing that there is
an Infinite Love that seeks give to us something even greater than we
can imagine for ourselves. And as we grow in our awareness of this
Truth, that something greater will come to our awareness.
And so we go back to the Book of Jeremiah and remind
ourselves: "You
will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will
be found by you ..." The key to everything that I have
written in this message is "with all your heart" ... we must
seek G-d with all of our heart. We must have such a great love for
G-d, that we are not moved by whatever appears to distract us from
finding the Good in every area of our lives. We must seek to
demonstrate our part of the infinite Good because in doing so, we are
revealing that we have "found G-d" ... and the Truth is,
"I will be found by you."
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
