"Mechanical
engineering is the same as mental engineering; they are both dependent
wholly upon a creative intelligence. Mental photography, like
mechanical photography, produces exactly what it sees. A picture
of a homely, unsightly person never turns out to look like a Beauty
Pageant winner; nor does the little, short person look tall and large on
a photograph. A picture of black will not look white; neither can
negative, destroying ideas produce constructive and positive results.
If the ideas are negative, they will in turn create negative results."
- Raymond Holliwell, Working with the Law
"Probably
the most difficult of all facts to discover and to face are those things
within ourselves - to recognize within our own thought the way it has
been negatively productive. In all probability we are not even
aware of what we have been and are now doing to ourselves. We have
to have the courage to look in the mirror of our negative experience and
discover in our thought what corresponds to it."
- Ernest
Holmes/Willis Kinnear, A New Design For Living
Whenever
we find ourselves feeling frustration or anxiety with our conditions or
with other people, we need only look within ourselves to find the
conflict. So often, it is readily apparent to us whenever we can
recall where our thoughts have been focused. And then we know why
we may find ourselves less than confident, relaxed and feeling
self-assured. Mind is not subtle, it is specific and definite ...
as we dwell on things of a negative nature about our self or others, we
shall definitely experience the feelings of negativity associated with
those indwelling thoughts.
In reality, whatever we think about someone
else is "caused" by what we think of our self. If I were
to feel that someone was withholding from me, I know that within my own
mind I have been holding thoughts of limitation and lack. In other
words, I have been limiting my own ability to claim the good that is
mine with grace and ease. The same is true of what "people
think of me" ... these are merely reflections of that within me
that I must "correct mentally" ... that is, by changing my
thoughts about myself. Now, some people will not accept this,
because many of us continue to believe that we can "blame"
someone outside of ourselves for the negative experiences that come our
way. And some people even justify the negative experiences by
relating them to past mistakes, moral sins, etc. that they have
committed themselves. But, whether we "blame" someone
else or our self ... we don't correct the thinking that will continue to
give us the experiences that we do not want. Our only solution to
eliminate the negative experiences is within our own mind.
From the ancient scriptures, Romans 12:2 "And
be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind ..."
As we make the decision to
"renew our mind" we realize that all that we have experienced
of a negative nature, was right action ... because it brought us to the
place in our mind where we are now ... at the point of transformation.
And truly this is all that matters. It is at this point of
transformation that we make the decision to "renew our mind"
with the truth about who we are and what we are about. It was over
2000 years ago when the Master Mind Jesus posed the question; "don't
ye know that ye are gods?" And since that day forward,
it seems, the world and especially the religions of the world have
attempted to convince us that we are not. Yet, here we are at the
point of transformation anyway, which is normal and natural for it is
the direction that Spirit has guided us to.
As we begin this unfoldment of our
transformation, we can know and understand with greater clarity, "what
I see is what I believe" ... and so we know that what we see
is what our consciousness has accepted ... and as we lift up our
consciousness, that is, our awareness of the abundance in the Universe,
we can begin to actualize and manifest that which supports us and
benefits us in our state of a "renewed mind" ... that is, a
mind that knows and knows that it knows that "yes, we are
gods." G-d is in each and everyone of us ... we are a
"part of G-d" ... part of Its infinite Life.
And so just what does it mean that "ye are
gods?" This will always depend on the individual, for each of
us will accept our measure of the infinite good to the degree that we
are willing to release the past ... especially our negative definitions
and labels of past experiences and the people we encountered ... and to
accept something greater, something more in tune with the Nature of a
living spirit expressing Its god-self to a higher degree of acceptance
of the good that is available to us to experience and to enjoy.
This is the point in our experience at which we feel "at peace with
our self" ... knowing that this expression of the Divine that we
are is not affected by the experiences ... the seeming failures,
disappointments, rejections, heartbreaks ... but that in the Spirit, we
have a natural immunity to anything negative binding us any further than
our mentally "loosing" the negative labels about it ... and
our acceptance of a greater experience filled with that which gives us a
passion and enthusiasm for life.
It is a great joy to live
life being at peace with who we are and what we are about. This
peace is available to each of us right now, right where we are ... but
it is up to us to claim it, to declare it as present for us ... and to
do this again and again until we feel the presence of this peace no
matter what experiences or seeming appearances, we may be moving
through. Peace cultivated, nurtured and fostered within our
consciousness is powerful ... it is part of G-d ... we can sustain it
within our mind ... by simply choosing to do so.
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
