"Our
beliefs cause our experiences. Your mental beliefs are the only
cause, and whatever you think, feel, believe, and accept as true in your
mind is the only cause in your world. You should remember
constantly that "it is done unto you as you believe."
Feel and rejoice in the Presence of God within you; that is the only
thing that counts in your life. Tune in on the Infinite One within
you, honoring this Presence as supreme and sovereign in your life, and
you will find that all things will work together for good in your
life." - Dr. Joseph Murphy,
"The Miracle of Mind Dynamics"
This week's lesson takes us back to a vintage
metaphysical book which contains an outstanding and effective spiritual
practice.
"If
you KNOW what you WANT you can HAVE IT"
... is on the front cover and the back cover of a little booklet titled,
"It Works" by RHJ, copyright 1926. Millions have used
the information included in this little booklet with great success.
It can be purchased on Amazon.com for $3.00 U.S. ... so it is affordable
for everyone. The lesson that we want to get from it is that we
must first, know what we want. Not what we need, but what we want.
Too often we get stuck on what we "need" rather than what we
"want." Someone may need to pay off their debts, but
what they want is enough money to live life without going into debt.
As we work with "The Plan" outlined in this little booklet, we
can have what we want ... and we can learn to discover just what that
is.
We can be very specific about what we want,
right down to the tiniest detail or we can be very non-specific
depending on what it is that we want. But, as I have stated often
in these messages, we can have what we want, but we must take all that
goes with it. If what we want brings unhappiness or misery into
the world, we shall experience this unhappiness and misery personally.
And if we want that which brings a greater joy, success and prosperity
for others, our Good shall in turn be multiplied abundantly.
As we begin to think about what we
"want" ... what we really want ... I suggest that as we think
about these things, ask ourselves do we feel any great passion for these
things? ... or do we want them because we feel they are necessary to
have in life? Do I feel passionately about owning my own home?
Maybe not, but if I get into the details and begin to believe that I can
HAVE exactly the home that I WANT, then my level of passion for it will
increase. This passion that we feel towards our prosperity and
success builds the level of energy that attracts these things into our
lives; the people, the opportunities, the ideas ... whatever is
necessary.
But ... let's go back to the words, "If
You KNOW" ... thinking we know and knowing are two different things
... we must KNOW THAT WE KNOW ... as Dr. Holmes so often stated.
And this statement works two ways, first we must know what we want and
then we must know we can have it ... and as we are "definite"
about both of these ... then we must "KNOW WE HAVE IT" ... and
we can. As I wrote above, millions have read this little booklet,
but not everyone has benefited from it ... many have, but many have not.
We can read the book a thousand times, but until we follow the simple
instructions contained within it and practice them, we shall not receive
any benefit.
"The Plan" is simple: Write down on
paper in order of their importance the things and conditions you really
want. Do not be afraid of wanting too much. Go the limit in
writing down your wants. Change the list daily, adding to or
taking from it, until you have it about right. Do not be
discouraged on account of changes, as this is natural. There will
always be changes and additions with accomplishments and increasing
desires.
These are the "Three Positive Rules Of
Accomplishment":
1. Read the list of what you want three
times each day: morning, noon and night.
2. Think of what you want as often as
possible.
3. Do not talk to any one about your plan
except to the Great Power within you which will unfold to your Objective
Mind the method of accomplishment.
From the book: "It is obvious that
you cannot acquire faith at the start. some of your desires, from
all practical reasoning, may seem positively unattainable, but,
nevertheless, write them down on your list in their proper place of
importance to you. ... There is no need to analyze how this Power within
you is going to accomplish your desires. Such a procedure is as
unnecessary as trying to figure out why a grain of corn placed in
fertile soil shoots up a green stalk, blossoms and produces an ear of
corn containing hundreds of grains, each capable of doing what the one
grain did. If you follow this definite plan and carry out the
three simple rules, the method of accomplishment will unfold quite as
mysteriously as the ear of corn appears on the stalk, and in most cases
much sooner than you expect. ... When new desires, deserving position at
or about the top of your list, come to you, then you may rest assured
you are progressing correctly. ... Removing from your list items
which at first you thought you wanted, is another sure indication of
progress."
If we follow the instructions in this little
book, we will prosper. Prosperity
means having all our needs met. And if we want something, or
desire something ... and have a healthy passion to have it or experience
it, we must meet this need in order to truly understand and experience
our relationship with God, The Good. "All that the Father
hath is mine," the Master Mind Jesus declared ... this statement is
true for you and me too ... and we can prove it as we feel our passion
for prosperity!
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
