"Suppose
the problem is one of supply (money). The person has a false
belief of stringency. We do not treat that money will pour into
the life of this person even though that is what he wants, and we want
him to have it. ... in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus was dealing
with deep, underlying beliefs. When he came to the subject of
supply, he admitted that the people's desire for food and clothing was
legitimate, but he tried to show them that if they would seek the Giver,
the gifts would naturally flow. ... The Kingdom of God, so often
mentioned by Jesus and the ancient seers, is the consciousness of the
oneness of God and man, and God's pouring into man all of His abundance.
This Kingdom is sought by breaking free from the mass view, constantly
lifting our thought to its highest levels, and seeing God as never
reluctant to grant our desires, but rather ever seeking to express a
more abundant life through us."
- Dr. Frederick Bailes, Basic Principles of the Science of
Mind
The Master Mind Jesus' statement
referred to by Dr. Bailes, was bold, and it can be found in the Gospel
of Matthew, Chapter 6:25Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or
what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not
the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold
the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather
into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much
better than they? 27Which
of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why
take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they
grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And
yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these.
Very few people have truly embodied this
particular teaching of Jesus, because in the physical, it appears to be
beyond our reach. Our physical needs are so demanding on our human
nature that, for most of us, it seems almost foolish to consider
otherwise. But, what one woman or man can do, every woman or man
can do ... and the mystics have proven this principle time and again.
The Master Mind Jesus proved this principle so steadfastly and
consistently, that thousands of books have been written to either
confirm that he did, or deny that he did. The question for us, is
how much are we willing to trust in G-d to provide for us? The
principle, is absolute ... but not out of reach.
Most of us know, that G-d-consciousness
is by degree ... in other words, we can learn to develop this absolute
faith and trust in G-d to provide for us ... by degree. We begin
by placing our faith and trust in G-d by affirming a certain good that
we desire to experience ... and we do it again, and again, and again ...
until we develop within our consciousness a greater faith and trust in
G-d. It is up to us to realize this personal relationship with G-d
that is available to each and every one of us. By taking the time
to "recognize" this personal relationship with G-d, we also
make prosperity and all things good personal to us as well. And as
we do this, we nurture and foster a prosperity personality ... that's
right ... a personality that is confident, poised, and convinced that
G-d provides for us in whatever way our needs require. For some of
us, this may be our daily bread, that is food for our body and our soul
... both of these are necessary for us to live a faith-filled life.
For others of us, our daily bread may be financial increases in our
stock portfolios, as this gives us a greater sense of being provided for
by G-d, because lack of food for our body has never been an issue for
us. And so when we see G-d's abundance reflected in our stocks, we
have a greater confidence that this Intelligence Greater than us,
provides more and more good, through us; by guiding us intuitively to
those stocks that will increase our good.
When we look at the words of Dr. Bailes and
also the words attributed to the Master Mind Jesus, we can clearly see
that both are speaking of the Omniscience of G-d; Infinite Intelligence.
It is All-Knowing, which is why Jesus could be certain that G-d would
respond to him, and know what to do, and how to do it. Jesus
connected to the "result" in his mind, and left the details to
this All-Knowing-ness of G-d to manifest the results in the physical.
In the science of mind, we understand this as the working of Love and
Law; that is, faith activates the Law of Mind, and Love (G-d) makes the
way possible. Both Love and Law are necessary for us to be at
peace with the results that are made manifest in our experiences.
Law without Love, is edging G-d out (ego), and even though we may get
the results that we seek, we may also find ourselves losing it. A
good example, and I have stated this often, are people who win the state
lotteries; many winners end up losing their winnings in some way or
another. When we "know" that G-d is the
"Giver" ... the only "Giver" ... then we can know
with certainty and confidence that what we have been given, is ours to
use to increase the good in the world for ourselves and for others.
It is this certainty and confidence in G-d that permeates the
consciousness of those who possess a prosperity personality.
We can begin to develop a
prosperity personality by affirming that we have faith and confidence in
G-d to provide for us ... then, we must ask for something by claiming
that it is ours now ... so that G-d, the Giver, can give not just the
thing we ask for, but a greater sense of confidence and assurance that
G-d will provide for us all things necessary for us to live a glorious
and wonderful life filled with the experiences of our choosing.
This is the personality that the Master Mind Jesus possessed; absolutely
confident that G-d would respond to him, always and in all ways:
"All that the Father hath is mine." And yours and mine
too!
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
