Principle.
Let us restate our Principle. We are surrounded by an
Infinite Possibility. It is Goodness, Life, Law and Reason.
In expressing Itself through us, It becomes more fully conscious of Its
own being. Therefore, It wishes to
express through us. As it passes into our being, It
automatically becomes the law of our lives. It can pass into
expression through us only as we consciously allow It to do so.
Therefore, we should have faith in It, and Its desires and Its ability
to do for us all that we shall ever need to have done. Since It
must pass through our consciousness to operate for us, we must be
conscious that It is doing so. - Dr. Ernest

As we study
the statements above by Dr. Ernest Holmes, we can begin to imagine the
results we can actualize in our lives as we foster and cultivate the
idea in our consciousness the statement by the Spiritual Genius, Jesus,
that "the kingdom of heaven is within you!" And since
this "heaven" is within us, then we know that the desires and
hopes for greater happiness, joy, peace and prosperity are truly this
"heaven" pressing against us to be expressed in our lives.
How many times have we imagined something wonderful and felt the impulse
within us to experience it? Each time that we do, we are
connecting with that Greater Power that Indwells us ... and It wants us
to have, to be, and to experience the very thing that brings us this
heightened joy and feelings of happiness.
So, why don't we? Mostly
because we allow ourselves to get trapped in the "physical"
... we see the evidence of our limitations rather than open our minds to
our infinite possibilities. And it is not healthy to be in
"longing" for our Good, whatever it may be .... longing
creates stress on the heart and can lead to numerous heart-related
ailments. We must move into a "state of mind" that knows
that there is a Power within us that can move all things necessary into
the experience that we want to move into ... the only limitations are
the limitations that we set in our minds. Do we believe in
success? ... most of us would say yes ... but do we believe that we are
successful? ... that is the important question to examine in our moments
of contemplation and meditation. Whatever it is that we imagine
for ourselves ... we must be capable of "be-ing in it."
A quick test of whether we truly believe or not, is how much do we
"talk" against it ... how many words of failure and even
despair do we use when referring to our life or our goals and plans?
Spirit cannot work with a house that is divided. If our mental
household is half-filled with positive affirmations of our success or
joy and half-filled with resentment and self-pity ... we are at a
standstill ... and soon stagnation will set in ... followed by despair
or depression. Despair is "hell" in our consciousness
... it stops us from moving forward and stops the flow of the Infinite
Impulse from moving through our hearts and minds. We arrive at
despair when we hold onto "stubborn" attitudes and
assumptions. As we act on assumptions ... we negate the Truth ...
and when we negate the Truth ... we negate God ... or the Good that is
ours.
The
"kingdom of heaven is within you" ... it is within our grasp
... manifesting through our ideas and understanding of our relationship
with God, Infinite Good. It can't wait to be expressed for all
that It knows Is Now ... the Present. Our past is not it and our
future either ... we will only experience heaven in the Present ... and
it is in the Present that we must release our old false beliefs and
ideas of inferiority and limitation ... and it is in the Present ...
that we release all worry, fear and concern for the future ... for it is
in the Present that we live ... and it is our state of mind (heaven or
hell) that we experience.
And
So It Is!
