Weekly Message for

As
I drive each day from Hollywood to Beverly Hills, I see billboard
advertising for the movie, "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere,
Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez throughout the  city. The plot of
this movie is certainly not original, as a matter of fact many movies
and books have given us this same story in their own unique way,
including the Bible. Richard Gere is by far my very favorite actor
(Charles
Gorgano is #2), so the billboards get my attention and I bless this
new movie of his each time I pass them. I know without a doubt
that this movie will get its audience.... why? ..... because this type
of drama is a great diversion from our own lives.
The director, Adrian Lyne, has directed "Fatal Attraction, 9 1/2
Weeks, Indecent Proposal and Lolita," all in the same genre of
film. These films made lots of money and lots of people went and
sat in front of the movie screens and filled their minds with the ideals
or lack of ideals illustrated in these movies. There were far more
people sitting in the theatres on Sunday afternoons watching these
movies than attended most churches on Sunday mornings.
NOW, before anyone starts thinking I have
turned pious, don't. There is a time and a place for
all things, however, for those of us who are seeking to experience more
of the beauty, joy, love and harmony of life, we must be diligent in our
efforts to eliminate from our consciousness all that is contrary to that
which we seek to experience. Dr. Robert H.
Bitzer stated in the "Collected Essays of Robert H. Bitzer,"
that we must be careful where we take our consciousness. Dr.
Holmes writes that we are dealing with a power that is both positive and
negative and that which our mind is focused on 51% of the time, becomes
our experience. If our mind is focused on the dramas, the
soap operas of life, rather than on that which is wonderful and
beautiful, we begin to become the directors of our own dramas and
executive producers of our own miseries.
Our attraction to the dramas is a "fatal attraction" to our
demonstrations of joy and greater happiness in our lives. We don't
get to have our cake and eat it too. The Universe just does not
work that way. Whatever we put in our minds becomes our Law of
Mind, whether our subconscious receives it from a book of fiction, a
movie or an audio tape. Our subconscious
Mind is constantly picking up and receiving messages from our
environment and is being "impressed" with our reactions and
acceptance of what we see, hear, taste, touch and smell. If
we are "living on the edge" then we must move out of the
activities and observances of those things that do not move us into a
greater consciousness of a life of magnificence and bliss.
Life is to be lived fully, joyfully and
successfully and it is our responsibility to insure that it is! As
we turn from being "unfaithful" to our Good and turn our
attention to being "Fun-faithful," seeking out those things
that bring us joy, happiness and greater love, we will experience a more
enthusiastic and exciting consciousness that attracts "the best of
times and the best of everything!"
