"Program
yourself for health. Program yourself for love. Establish
firmly in your subconscious mind that whenever you think of your body
you think of it in terms of health. Program yourself for
opportunity so whenever you consider your future all you can see are
great possibilities. Program yourself for a marvelous
consciousness of abundance so you are not caught up in lack and
limitation. Develop the feeling that every time you spend money
you are spending it from unlimited abundance. Whenever you think
of money, think of it as continuous abundance and you will cancel out
lack. .... program yourself spiritually to experience the sufficiency in
you, to experience the best in you."
- Dr.
Frank Richelieu, The Art Of Being Yourself
It
is absolutely true that we can condition our mind right now to think of
possibilities. As Dr. Schuller says, "be a possibility
thinker!" We can go beyond that which we have considered to
be possible in the past ... and stretch our imagination. What is
the image we have of ourselves right now? Do we want to continue to live
with this image? Are we happy with the conditions and
circumstances in our life right now ? Do we really want to change
our life? We cannot change anything within our mind unless we
really want to! Most of us want change ... we want something more
... more money, more love, more peace, more success ... but are we
willing to do more to get it? That is the million-dollar question.
Whatever
change we want to effect in our lives, we are the ones that must do it.
Other people can inspire us and lift us up ... but
they can't "hold us up." Being dependent on other people
is no different than being dependent on drugs or alcohol ... they can
only provide a "temporary high" ... they can't think for us
... and until we think the thought that changes the image that we have
of ourselves and the condition of our life experience ... nothing
changes.
And this requires work.
Work that we’re not used to … work that requires honesty and
being authentic with ourselves … this work requires
“self-examination” and a great deal of ”solitude” … both of
which very few of us are accustomed to.
This is why the Master Mind Jesus and all the great mystics spent
time in the “wilderness” … in places away from people, in
solitude.
Not everyone believes that they have the power
to effect change in their lives.
We too often look to others for our answers and fail to realize
… they don’t have “our answers” … they only have “their
answers” … the answer to every problem or challenge that we face is
“within us” … and we must work to reveal it.
And we can do it …
we all can - we just must "keep at it" until the way
within our mind opens up. And how do we know when this has
happened? We know it when an idea to have something, to be
something, or to do something ... has such a powerful appeal to us in
our mind that we must have it, must be it, or must do it. The idea
of it can be so insistent in our mind that nothing can distract us from
it. And we begin to act ... with persistence and with an
insistence "in our mind" that it is ours.
Let’s make the decision today to sign a new contract with Life.
Let’s impress this contract firmly in our mind and know that we
cannot fail to achieve that which we have decided to do, to be, or to
have. Let’s
not waver in our commitment to ourselves and to this glorious gift of
life that G-d has given us.
Let’s not let our dreams disappear before we have lived them
and enjoyed them, and replaced them with a greater dream still.
Here in Palm Springs we repeat this "Power
Affirmation" every Sunday morning. Please say to yourself
right now:
There is a Power within me.
That lifts my life to its highest level.
It changes illness into health.
It brings peace amidst turmoil.
It brings success out of failure.
And victory out of defeat.
It brings companionship and happiness our of loneliness.
It responds to me.
For this is the Power that dwells within me!
And so it is! Amen.
As
Dr. Frank Richelieu writes, “Program yourself spiritually to
experience the sufficiency in you, to experience the best in you."
The
Presence of G-d within each of us waits patiently in silent repose,
while we sign our new contract with life!
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
