"WATCH
that you be consistent in your handling of error, not overlooking an
error in yourself, or claiming immunity from it, while you continue to
hold it as real in another. In the habit of criticism, it is well
to remember that that which does the criticizing is no more real or part
of man than what is criticized.” - from
500 WATCHING POINTS
"Shock-jock"
radio disc jockeys, "rap" singers, and celebrities here in the
U.S. have made the front page of newspapers across the country and
across the globe via the Internet in the past few months. There
has been a pattern of people in the public eye revealing the baser side
of their thoughts. Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic remarks were
outrageous! He sounded like he was channeling Hitler. Then
along comes Michael Richards, Isaiah Washington,
Ann Coulter and now Don Imus! Why have we let this happen? Have we
as a culture in America become so dull that we don't know when enough is
enough? This is not about edgy-comedy ... this is about, as
Hillary Clinton states, "basic decency and respect."
I believe we can look to metaphysics
for the answer to all of this.
And it can be summed up in the word, "mesmerism" ... we have
been mesmerized in believing that the "un-real" is real.
We have believed that what someone says about another has power.
As the women on Rutgers basketball team have so beautifully illustrated
... nothing was real about the remarks made by Don Imus. But, in
our culture most people don't want to accept this understanding but
instead want to demand punishment. So few of us trust in the Law
of Cause and Effect ... and realize that every action has a logical
consequence ... and the consequence will be of the same nature as the
cause. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, stated:
"I'm very glad that there was, in fact, a consequence. I think that
this kind of coarse language doesn't belong anywhere in reasonable
dialogue between reasonable people."
I do agree with Condoleezza Rice that it is good that the consequence is
evident ... but not probably for the same reason. I see it as the
Law fulfilling Itself. And it would have fulfilled Itself no
matter whether we found it easily discernable or not.
We must always remember that nothing comes from
person, place or thing. All things come from Mind. And even
though we want to point fingers at Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, Isaiah
Washington and Ann Coulter ... they are but the inlet and outlet of the
"collective consciousness" and this collective consciousness
has been mesmerized into believing in the un-real through a process of
repetitiveness. In the final analysis, we, as a people, have
listened too much and too often to the "church of the poisoned
mind" ... we have allowed the shock jocks and others to
"preach" their "false ideas" until it has permeated
the consciousness. If we insist on pointing fingers, we must point
them towards the masses of people who support the shock jocks,
mean-spirited columnists, actors and comedians and the rap industry that
continues to permeate self-defeating language into the consciousness.
An additional point I would like to present in
this message is "trust" ... do we trust this Universal
Presence, Power and Intelligence, we call God? As we fully embody
the Truth of Love and Law, then we realize that the Law is always
working precisely and perfectly. This is why the scripture reads,
"all that is unseen will be seen." And Love works
through Law ... the Law of Cause and Effect precisely presents a
consequence to that which is caused. But, Love, brings to light
that which we must correct in our minds. If we think of the events
of the past few months as finished ... or if we forgive without
understanding ... then we can only expect to see more of the same.
Love is calling us to stop the nonsense and stop listening to these
diatribes that are so apparent on our television screens and radio
frequencies. We must stop "listening" to the un-real and
fill our minds with that which is affirmative and supportive of Life,
Love and Spirit. The images in the world in which we live are
evidence of what error thinking is causing. How much more do we
want to experience or see experienced by others? We can stop it by
not giving it power ... by consistent handling it by claiming immunity
from it ... and stop holding it as real for others.
In our impatience with the Law of Cause
and Effect, we sometimes create even greater error than the errors we
strive to transcend. We can trust in the Infinite and realize in
our mind that Intelligence is capable of bringing error into harmony ...
without our demands and criticisms. Our work is to transcend the
collective consciousness that has been mesmerized. To see everyone
and everything as God sees them. Each of us is responsible for
this ... and we are not responsible for anyone else ... for we cannot
think for them. "All things are possible with God" ...
if we believe this ... then let's give God a chance to prove it is so
... and not create more chaos in the collective consciousness through
our own efforts to create consequences. "Resist not
evil," the Great Metaphysician stated ... for what we resist ...
persists.
AND SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
