In mental work, we must realize that there is One
Infinite Mind, which is consciously directing our destiny. Declare every
day that: "No mistakes have been made, none are being made, and none
can be made." Declare: "There is One Supreme Intelligence
which governs, guides and guards, tells me what to do, when to act and how to
act." Having done this in perfect faith, act with perfect assurance.
Declare further: "Everything necessary to the full and complete
expression of the most boundless experience of joy is mine now."
Know this, see it, feel it and BE it. Do this every day for a few
minutes. We should all do this until the time comes when it is no longer
necessary. When that time comes we will know it because our
demonstrations (Good results) will have been made. - Dr. Ernest Holmes, The
Science of Mind
Palm Sunday marks the Radical Jesus' triumphant entry into
Jerusalem and the end of hiding and secrecy. The procession began
accompanied by shouting and singing from the throngs as they threw down their
garments on the pathway to cushion his ride - an Oriental custom still observed
on occasions - as well as palm fronds, the symbol of triumph. The crowd
greeted Him with cheers of "Hosanna" ... meaning "save us"
... the people were certain that He had come to overthrow the Roman occupation
and Jerusalem would again be a Jewish city. Even the Council of Elders
were afraid that Jesus would start a revolution against them. But, the
Master Mind Jesus was not concerned with the power of the government or the
Council of Elders for He knew that the only Power that can "save"
anyone is the Power of God working through our mind ... "it is done unto
you as you believe."
As Jesus went through the week before Holy Friday teaching, those who wanted an
overthrow of the Roman occupiers became discouraged with Him. They were
not interested in Spiritual Power ... their self-interests were limited to the
power of this world ... and therefore their actions continued to create the
effects of limitation. The irony of his acceptance as the new Davidic
King (Mark 11:10) by the crowds that would only five days later cry for his
execution should be a sobering reminder of the human tendency to want God on
our own terms. When the Radical Jesus stated, "Destroy this temple
and in three days I will raise it up" ... the people took His words
literally and assumed He was out to destroy the temple .. this literal
interpretation was later used as justification for His arrest and conviction.
But in Truth, Jesus was referring to His physical body knowing that the Power
over His body was held in His consciousness and not subject to anything in the
physical realm of Life.
Going back to the words of Dr. Holmes, we can understand that
the mentality of Jesus transcended the physical and the literal. His
language during this time was from the subjective mind or soul. He was
allowing the Spirit to speak through Him and guide Him. But, for the most
part, no one understood that He was speaking a language of transcendence ...
therefore His words were taken literally ... and still are for the most part in
traditional Christian and Catholic religions. Those who cannot fathom
that the "Christ" is within them ... can never quite understand the
Christ in Jesus ... in other words, we cannot understand what we do not
"know" ... and we will never "know" until we are willing to
work in consciousness as outlined by Dr. Holmes in the Science of Mind.
No other spiritual or religious teaching follows the methods used by Jesus more
definitely than the Science of Mind.
Jesus touched on the "Christ within" to a greater degree than anyone
in history ... it created within Him a "passion to know God" and to
teach that which He had come to know. When He stated, "it is done
unto you as you believe" ... this was not only uttered as a change-less
Principle but as an eternal Truth ... with great passion. His entire
experience was an example of this statement. Knowing the Truth ... and
having a passion for the Truth ... not for traditions or for teachings that
were more concerned with cultural laws ... Jesus' passion was untouched by the
physical conditions surrounding Him. His great passion was to go through
the process ... to teach everyone that Spiritual Power ... the Power of God
within us ... the "Christ within" ... Is greater than anything
outside of us ... greater than our past experiences and our Earthly conditions.
I invite each of you, this
Passion Sunday, to discover within yourself a "passion" for Life ...
a Life not hindered by limitation ... or by the false beliefs of the world ...
but a Life that is open to the Infinite impulse within you ... the Christ
within you ... and I invite you to let this Christ within unfold in your Life
without fear, without doubt and without hesitation knowing that God Is all-ways
with you, guiding you and moving you forward ... filling your soul with a
passion for living!
And
So It Is!
Maximum Love,
Rev.
