"No
matter what the lips may be saying, the inner thought out speaks them
..."
... Dr. Ernest Holmes, The
Science of Mind
In the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 7 in the
Bible, there are statements attributed to the Master Mind Jesus that
just confuse the heck out of me. First, it is written that He
stated, [Matt. 7:1] "judge not lest ye be judged" and then,
[Matt. 7:2] "for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be
judged." Now, this I can understand. In metaphysics we
know that what we "judge" is within our own consciousness ...
if we judge someone as inferior, we are merely revealing our own
feelings of self-inferiority. Whatever our judgment is of anyone
or anything we are establishing that "judgment" against
ourselves in our consciousness ... or at least the possibility of it.
Next, we can read in Matthew
7:6, ".... neither ye cast your pearls before swine ... " and
most of us know the rest of this statement. But, I am confused at
this point ... if we are not to judge ... then who are the swine?
Would the Radical Jesus refer to anyone as swine? ... after all, wasn't
His greatest teaching to "love one another?"
Perhaps I am missing the point ... maybe He was talking about real
pearls and real pigs ... and perhaps His audience were small children
playing with pearls ... but then, what were Jewish children doing
playing with pigs? The only plausible explanation I can take from
this is that the author of the Gospel of Matthew got his notes mixed up
or perhaps the translation from the Aramaic, the language of Jesus, and
other languages ... just did not translate correctly ... you know, like
when we use software to translate languages on the Internet ...
sometimes the translation is just plain wrong!
Now, in a perfect world where we are living at the
Perfection of God expressing as us, we will never find anyone that we
would refer to as "swine" ... but, the masses of us do not
live to this level of Perfection 100% of the time ... and believe me,
few of us do not have our moments when we find a greater inferiority in
others than we do in ourselves ... or at least we think we do. And
most of us will continue to have these moments ... but we mustn't dwell
on them. According to Dr. Joseph Murphy, "we must choose our
thoughts carefully. Practice discernment. Separate the chafe
from the wheat in our mind. Salute the Divinity within our self
while realizing that everyone is an epitome of the Divine, and good will
come to us." This attitude is the practice of the Science of
Mind ... and also the philosophy of Jesus ... not the judgment of swine
and bitter thoughts about others.
Every day in every way and in all that we do
... we are either expanding and growing our consciousness onward and
upward toward God ... or we are degenerating our consciousness and
becoming attached to the physical. Our consciousness is constantly
changing ... just as our state of mind changes with different
experiences and in different situations. Few of us are always
walking the "straight line of Truth" ... and if we think we
are, then we are probably dabbling with arrogance. The world will
tell us that it is difficult for us to forgive or to have compassion in
the place of anger ... but that is not the truth. It is our
inherent nature to be forgiving and compassionate ... for these are
reflections of Love [God]. Think of moments when we have dismissed
anger from our mind and replaced it with compassionate understanding ...
didn't we feel much better than the moments in which our thoughts turned
bitter? ... of course we did. And this is because we were
reflecting our true nature ... the Presence of God within us. And
in that moment our consciousness was moved forward, onward and upward to
a Higher realization of God within us.
There is only One Mind, that
Mind is God and that Mind is our mind now ... when we recognize that It
Is ... control our mind and direct it toward the good, the lovely, the
compassionate and the forgiving ... we can bless anyone and walk
on in Love. We never have to carry the heavy burdens of anger and
bitterness until they fill our mind, body and soul with the poisons that
destroy our health, happiness and joy. Everything is a choice ...
our state of mind reflects our choices ... and our state of mind creates
the measure of God [Good] in our consciousness. Let us revel in
our Divinity ... and reflect more and more of God everyday in every way
... let the pigs have the pearls ... we can have diamonds
And
So It Is!

Love Use Me In Its Own Good Way,
