“...
what the world needs is spiritual conviction, followed by spiritual
experience. I would rather see a student of this Science prove its
Principle than to have him/her repeat all words of wisdom that have ever
been uttered. It is far easier to teach the Truth than it is to
practice It. ... But the practice of Truth is personal to each, and in
the long run no one can live our life for us. To each is given
what he/she needs and the gifts of heaven come alike to all. How
we shall use these gifts is all that matters! To hold one's
thought steadfastly on the constructive, to that which endures, and to
the Truth, may not be easy in a rapidly changing world, but to the one
who makes the attempt much is guaranteed.”

Dr. Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind
We
keep hearing the word "recession" in the news and for many
people this word is the reality of their financial affairs.
Mortgage payments doubled, high gasoline prices, and credit card debt
are but some of the effects that many people are facing. Yet,
there are those who do not seem to be affected by these at all. As
a matter of fact, there are plenty of people making lots of money and
living luxurious lives. Reading in the "Business"
section of our newspapers we can find articles where companies are
laying off employees, and giving multi-million dollar bonuses to
their officers. Does this make sense? For many people it
does not ... but in Truth, it makes perfect sense. In the Great
Depression early in the 1900's, some people jumped out of the windows of
their office buildings ... while others were reviewing plans for
building bigger offices. And the difference is
"consciousness" ... and it is a difference that we need to pay
attention to.
From The Science of Mind: "We
must consciously know that we can use creative power. The more
complete such acceptance on our part, the more completely we shall be
able to use this power for definite purposes. We should develop a
conscious conviction of our ability to know and to understand the way
that the mind works. We shall not be able to do this while we
listen to those who deny us, or themselves, the privileges we wish to
enjoy. No one ever yet found a living soul in a dead body or
learned that affirmations of life and health will become beneficial by
denying any power to them."
In Reality, our wealth and success are not
dependent on anything outside of our very own consciousness. To
develop the consciousness of wealth and success, our mentality must be
filled with conviction, warmth, color, and imagination. Imagine
what it is that we are working with in our mind. We are working
with the only Power and Intelligence there is, God, Infinite Spirit ...
Principle. As we depend on Principle, there is nothing to oppose
us. Principle is not dependent on world affairs, history, or our
own personal past experiences or the ups and downs of the stock
market. As we foster a conviction that Spirit responds to us and
become conscious of Its Presence within us ... within our own mind ...
our consciousness begins to embody the ideas that we give It. But
... we must be persistent and consistent in our conviction. And
this is where we can gain the greatest benefit from The Science of
Mind: "We
should be careful to distinguish day dreaming and wistful wishing from
really dynamic and creative treatment. When we treat we do not
wish, we KNOW. We do not dream, we STATE. We do not hope, we
ACCEPT. We do not pray, we ANNOUNCE. We do not expect
something is going to happen, we BELIEVE THAT IT HAS ALREADY
HAPPENED."
Practicing the method of effective, dynamic
prayer given to us by Dr. Ernest Holmes in The Science of Mind, we can
develop a consciousness that is "recession-proof" ... we can
prepare our mind to accept the ideas that bring us greater success and
prosperity. We can become "self-reliant" as we have the
conviction that our mental work ... works. "It is done unto
you as you believe," stated the Master Mind Jesus ... if we allow
ourselves to believe that our success and wealth are dependent on the
state of the economy, then we shall experience the ups and downs of the
world markets. The Law simply responds to our beliefs ... for it
is Its nature to do so.
Now is the time of our good fortune, for the
greatest time to demonstrate God, Infinite Principle, is when everything
seems to contradict the Truth. Let's not deny God and the Good, by
conforming to the "world's" ideas about 'recession" ...
God is not having a recession and neither are we ... for everything that
we experience is first experienced in our mind ... and as our mind is
turned toward God and the Good, we experience our heart's desires.
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
