What
It Does. Let us restate our
Principle. We are surrounded by an Infinite Possibility. It
is Goodness, Life, Law and Reason. In expressing Itself through
us, It becomes more fully conscious of Its own being. Therefore,
It wishes to express through us. As It passes into our being, It
automatically becomes the law of our lives. It can pass
into expression through us only as we consciously allow It to do so.
Therefore, we should have faith in It, and Its desires and Its ability
to do for us all that we shall ever need to have done. Since
It must pass through our consciousness to operate for us, we must be
conscious that It is doing so.
Chapter 3 "What It Does" - The Science of Mind by Dr. Ernest
Holmes
Dr. Holmes declared the Truth, "there's a power for good in
the universe, and I can use it." In his
later years he remarked that were he to do it all over again he
would emphasize Love more. As with
all great mystics, Dr. Holmes had continued to be "open
at the top" and grew into a greater
realization of this Power and Presence we call God or Spirit. In
this greater realization he became aware, as did Jesus, that "I
and the Father Are One." In
other words, the Good that I desire, is also God's desire for me, and as
I "unify"
with the One, I align myself with the infinite flow of Life, Love and
Truth, as God/Spirit expresses Itself through me. It is no longer
a matter of "using"
this Power for in Truth, the goal must be to "let"
this Power use me. In this greater
understanding we acknowledge the Truth that we are created in the image
and the likeness of God. We reflect the qualities of God, at the
level of our understanding of what our relationship to God is.
In order to allow God/Spirit to express more fully through us, we
must see ourselves as God sees us.
This is why the Radical Rabbi stated we
must "be as little children."
Little children have not cultivated the ways of the world; the judgments
of right and wrong, feelings of inferiority and superiority, shame and
blame, therefore their minds are free to accept the Truth. As we
accept more and more limitations and restrictions based on our concepts
of a life separate and apart from God, we block the flow of the Divine
through us. This separation is the "root
cause" of all discord in our life
experiences.
In the realization that "I and the Father are One," comes also
the realization that "I of mine own self can do nothing."
It is the flow of Divine Love through us that imparts to us through
inspiration and intuition, Its Divine Idea for us.
In our understanding that Love points the Way, the Law, "Mind in
Action," is unlimited in Its ability to manifest the Idea. The
only limit or restriction is that which is created in the mind of man
due to his lack of understanding of the Law and his relationship with
God/Spirit.
As we see ourselves as God sees us, our mind becomes free. We
understand that every Good idea that moves through our mind is God's
idea for us and along with the idea comes everything necessary to
demonstrate the Good. As we cultivate a conviction and faith in
the Goodness of Life, this becomes our Law of Mind and we move forward
to the fulfillment of our desires with confidence and self-assurance.
The world's concepts and beliefs will attempt to deceive us into
believing that we must depend on the powers of the world, but we are no
longer hindered by this false belief.
We "loose" from our consciousness words that diminish our
perfection. We know, and we know that we know, that everything
that must be healed within our consciousness is healed, and we move
through whatever it is that we must move through, with grace and ease
understanding that God Is Our All In All. "The Father
works and I work," the Master Mind Jesus stated. The mind
must conceive before the Creative Energy can produce; we must supply the
avenue through which It can work. It is ready and willing and
awaits only our faith and our understanding that we have the power and
the ability to work it!
